- 12 month certification, or 1,920 working hours. With 960 hours in natural building and 960 hours in conventional building.
- Prerequisites: The apprentice program equal to 1,440 hours, with at least 720 hours in natural building and 720 hours in conventional building. The journeyman program equal to 1,920 hours, with at least 960 hours in natural building and 960 hours in conventional building.
- The cost for the Foreman program is $300 a month. Does not include food or accommodations. Total cost is $3,600. A $1,000 none refundable deposit will be due after you have been accepted into the program to hold your spot for up to one year. The remaining balance of $2,600 will be due after the 30 day trial period from the start of the semester. After the 30 days the total tuition is non-refundable. Participants can be expelled from the program with no refunds. Please read the “before you apply” page to assure our program is a right fit for you. A payment plan is available with the $1,000 deposit when accepted to the program, and monthly payments of $220 a month for the 12 months of the program.
- If participants are accepted into the Foreman program, they will start at $20 an hour, with the possibility to increase up to $25 an hour, depending on their skill level and work ethic.
Description: Once accepted into the Foreman Certification program the the participant will continue to develop the skills needed to master the craft of building a structure to completion. They will continue to work with the foundation crew, the carpenters, the plumber, the electrician, the plaster crew, the roofer’s, and the Master Natural Builders. The participant will be given more responsibilities and will be expected to perform all tasks quickly, professionally, and accurately. The participants in this certification will need to master finishes, including trim, cabinets, window installation, finish plumbing, and finish electrical. They will need to begin mastering the art of plastering and natural finishes. They will be given more responsibilities, and will need to demonstrate that they can run a crew efficiently and manage their own job site successfully. At the completion of this certification there will be a written test, an oral exam, a presentation, and the participant must have completed one project from beginning to end.

Accommodations and Food: Participants are responsible for finding their own accommodations and food during their stay in the program. Their may be camping available on the land where we are building, but this is case by case, and totally dependent on the clients.
Other Prerequisites: 18 years of age, in good health, with health insurance. Have money for food and extra spending. Be able to pass a drug test. Be willing to refrain from drug use and drink alcohol while at work. Disposition: The participants interested in joining the company should be people who are spiritual, love yoga and meditation, have high energy, love to work hard, be able to stay upbeat, happy, and energetic during long work days. They should be organized and willing to go the extra mile with a smile. Students should be able to get up early and work late. They need to be the kind of person who can follow instruction and are willing to think outside the box. Ideal applicants are early to work, return back to work on time after breaks, do not mind staying late to get the job done, and are willing to start early to prepare for the day. The student should be the kind of person who doesn’t need drugs or alcohol to relax. A person who is flexible with scheduling and able to adapt in a moment’s notice, happily. Able to let things roll off their back if plans change. Overall, a happy, healthy, person with a good attitude, that is a team player.
