The Natural Building Certifications are an in-depth study in the field of sustainable building and design. The participants in these certifications will learn how to construct dwellings that can be built to satisfy local and state building codes. 

Participants have five options to choose from depending on the level of experience they are interested in receiving, and what level of training they would like to leave with.  Starting with the most basic, up to the highest levels. Each participant is responsible for clocking their training hours and continued education hours.

The Natural Living Design & Build team will only be accepting participants who are interested in completing one or all the certification programs we have to offer.  The courses are extremely intensive and only prospective students that are truly interested in making a career in the field of natural building or permaculture should apply.  Students need to understand that the level of commitment to the school, classes, and full schedule are for those with a high level of discipline, commitment, and energy. With full commitment, participants should be willing to not only work full time on the job site but also be eager to independently learn outside of work with recommended reading and learning opportunities.

“Apprenticeship Certification in Natural Building” – 24 months certification

Must have completed an internship or equivalent with minimum of 3 months experiencePaid position- starting at $11 an hour and up to $15 depending on experience.

“Journeyman Certification in Natural Building”– 48 months certification

Must have completed an apprenticeship or have 2 years building experience. Paid position- starting at $15 an hr and up to $20 depending on experience.

“Foreman Certification in Natural Building”– 24 month certification

Must have 4 years of journeyman level experience in the building industryPaid position- starting at $20hr and up to $30 depending on experience.

“General Natural Builder Certification”– 24 month certification

Must have 6 years of experience equivalent to journeyman and foreman levels within the building industryPaid position- starting at $30 and up to $40 depending on experience

OR

“Master Natural Builder Certification”– 24 month certification

Must have 6 years of experience equivalent to journeyman and foreman levels within the building industryPaid position- starting at $30 and up to $40 depending on experience.
